Spring Has Sprung

The new Challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is "Spring".  It is no wonder that I chose this image to use.  My favorite thing in Spring is all the flowers that pop up after the Winter.

I live in West Virginia so when I see the Daffodils I know Spring is right around the corner.  When we were kids we called them Easter Lilly's.  They pop up out of the ground everywhere right before Easter.  Along the side of the road .. on hillsides .. just all over.

My card was inspired by Gina K's cropped circles video.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  The image from Daisy's Digi Doodles has the Daffodil's and the sentiment.   You can find it HERE.  I used Nesties and papers from my scrap basket.  This little card only measures 4.25 X 4.25.

Stop at the Challenge Blog and look at the rest of the projects from the Design Team to see their idea of Spring.  And get your Spring project entered to win.

Challenges:
Totally Gorjuss  -  Spring is sprung
Polka Doodles  -  The spring has sprung
Sew Many Cards  -  Spring Fling
Wee Memories -  Anything Goes

Just For You Tags and a SALE

I have been doing a lot of sewing lately ... mostly gifts for the kids  ... so I wanted to make some tags for them.  But then I thought it would be good to have some on hand so I came up with tags that could be used for any of my sewing projects regardless of who they were for.  Here is what I came up with.

I am loving Lindsay's Sewing themed digi's.  This one is from her "Sew Pretty" set.  Check all of these images out.  Aren't they great!?!  Right now you can get them at a great price.  mygrafico is having a sale and the details are at the end of my post.

For my tags I printed the Spools out and paper pieced them.  I cut them out with a Labels One Nestie and stamped Just for you ... punched a hole and added the ribbon and they are done.  I wanted to do something that I could do multiples of relatively quick.

MYGRAFICO ST PATRICK'S DAY LUCKY SALE

Daisy Doodles -Luck Of The Irish

It's challenge time over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges.  For this challenge the theme is "GREEN".  I had to go with St. Patrick's Day.  Here is my card:

I used 2 images from "The Luck of the Irish" set at Daisy's Digi Doodles.  I can't remember where I got the sentiment.  It reads:
For each petal on the Shamrock
This brings a wish your way
Good Health, Good Luck
And Happiness for Today and Everyday.

I colored my little guy with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  He was really fun to color.  Everything else came from my stash.  I am determined not to buy anything else until I have put a big dent in my stash.

Be sure and check out the rest of the Design Team and see their projects.
Then go to Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges and enter your "GREEN" project.

I am entering this card in these challenges:
Card Cupids  -  Green
Allsorts  -  Luck Of The Irish
Wee Memories   -  Green Theme
Card Makin' Mamas  -  Something Green

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Style

For Lindsay's post this week I decided to use this set (and  image) again.  I really like this set.  I seem to be on a sewing theme.  :)

Here's my card:

I had a really hard time getting a good pic.  It is so rainy and overcast here.  My card was really very simple.  I colored it using watercolor pencils and an aqua brush.  I used Cardstock .. 2 scraps of paper ... (I am lovin' using up scraps) ... a piece of Ric-Rac (Scrap)  .. buttons and thread.  The sentiments are the clear stamps from the $1 bin at Michael's (Stamped on Scraps).

This stamp set is called "Posh 'n Trendy" and you can find it at mygrafico.  This really is a great set and very versatile.

Visit Lindsay's Blog "The Frugal Crafter" and pick up this weeks freebie.  She will have a project that will WOW you.  I promise!  She'll also have a Round-Up tomorrow (Friday) of this weeks projects.  Then visit the Design Team Blogs and see their projects for the week.  You can find them in my right side bar.

Challenges:
Fab 'n' Funky  -  Make It Girly
Simon Says  -  Anything Goes

Sew Cute!!

OK ... I admit it!  Since my card making muse has decided to make herself scarce I have been on a sewing kick.  I have to be doing something ALL of the time.  I go through phases and for the past month or so it has been a sewing phase.  I thought it would pass rather quickly since I sew 8 hours a day at my job.  (I work at The Men's Wearhouse as a Tailor).  But it seems to be hanging on.  When I go to my craft room to paper craft I find myself going through patterns and fabrics.  And of course the Grandkids get wind of it and request me to make them something ... What kind of Grandma would I be if I didn't honor their wishes?!?  LOL  Anyway I have decided that in between cards I would start showing you some of my sewing projects.

The one I have for you today was a request from Dalton (another one).  He's my loving, adorable youngest Grandson.  He is turning 7 on Saturday (tomorrow).  He loves to help his Mommy cook and decided he needed an apron of his very own.  Home Spun Threads now has all of her patterns for free.  Yep .. FREE.  If you sew then you must go over there and see what she has.  I used her Little Chef Patterns and here is the result:

Please forgive my photography ... I took this picture on my washer about 2:00 AM so I could get it shipped in time for his birthday.  Besides I am a night owl and that's when I do all of my projects....

Anyway he should get it today and I asked his Mommy to please please get a pic of him in it.  Besides ..  if he really likes it I might have to make him different ones.  And if he cooks like I do he'll need plenty so he can have a clean one!!    I'll be sure and show it to you.   :)

Thanks for letting me ramble about my sewing and my awesome Grandson.  Have a Great Day!!!!!
