D2D - "April Showers"

I made this card using the image from Faith at Designed2Delight for the challenge at Delightful Inspiration.  I thought when it went to Thursdays I would get mine in early...WRONG...  lol ... again I am about 10 minutes away from the deadline.  Oh well..the important thing is I made it.  Here's my card:

How cute is this little guy walking his little ladybug friend ?  I think Faith's birds are my favorites.  This was another quick card.  If you haven't been to D2D you really need to go.  She does a wonderful job..and such a nice person, too.

Supplies used:  (everything was from my stash :) )
poca-dot paper
yellow and red ribbons
red and blue cardstock
clear stamp from $1 bin
corner rounder
MS 3/4" square punch
Prismacolor Pencils and OMS

You Are My Anchor

I made a card earlier using the "Beyond The Reef" set from Daisy Doodles and when I put the card together I lost the anchor.  I searched and searched and couldn't find it so finished the card without it.  I make such a mess in my craft room that is really wasn't any wonder that it got covered up.  Anyway,  the next day it just resurfaced and I thought  "Oh..my anchor".  So I had the thought to print it bigger and make this card.  I saw this sketch somewhere and has saved it so decided to use it.  The sentiment is computer generated and inked with Tim Holtz Linen Distress Ink.  I watercolored the anchor  with Watercolor Pencils and an aquabrush.  The paper is K&Company and that is pretty much all there is to it.  As you know I tend to like simpler cards and this one fit the bill. I think I'll save it and give it to my hubby at some point.   So sometimes losing your stuff can lead you on to something else...lol.

LSS Hop, Shop and Crop - Day 3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY'S STAMP STUFF!!
Today is the last day of the 3 day blog hop, cyber crop and 50% off in the LSS shop anniversary event at the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Shop at MyGrafico!
Lindsay has a freebie for you too and you can get it in the Crop Room.
If you got here via Erin's Blog then you are on the right track.  (Wasn't her project awesome?)  If not then go back to Lindsay's Blog to start the hop from the beginning.
Before I show you my project let me show you the sets I used:

Pretty Primitive can be found HERE
Recipe Set can be found HERE.

Now for my project.
I decided to make a set of Boxed  Note Cards.  I printed the images that I wanted to use and cut and embossed them with the largest Oval Scallop Nestie.  They are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS.  I then cut cards from the largest Oval Nestie and adhered the scallops to them.  I made envlopes to go with each one.  I then used the Folio template from the Recipe set  to make a box for them.  There is a svg file but I printed the template and printed it on CS and cut it out.  It worked out perfectly.  All of Lindsay's sets are really versatile.  These are going to be a gift for my Aunt.  I didn't embellish so they could be mailed using standard postage.
Here they are individually:

I love these images....they are really a fun set to color.  Lindsay is giving away 18 digital stamp sets during during the LSS birthday event. You have a chance to win the Pretty Primitive Digital Stamp set used to make these projects right now. Leave a comment on this post for one chance to win. For a second chance to win, add the "I'm a fan of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff" badge to your blog and link to the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store on mygrafico.   Leave a second comment letting me know you have done this. I will use random.org to pick a winner the evening of Monday, April 19th, and will post their name here on Tuesday, April 20th.   Please leave your email address to make it easier to get the free digital set to you if you win. (To help avoid spam type it in this format: shestampsblog at yahoo dot com) If you already have this set, don't worry you can still play. Lindsay will allow you to swap it with another set if you are picked.

.I really hope you have enjoyed my project.   The next stop on the hop is Melissa.  Ican't wait to see what she has in store for you.  If you get lost along the way you can go back to Lindsay's and see where you were.  And don't forget to visit the crop room when you're done.  Have Fun!!!!!!

    Daisy Doodles Sketch Challenge

Just wanted to remind you all of the Daisy Doodles Sketch Challenge going on.  Miss Daisy is adding a brand new digital stamp to the prize package.  The challenge runs until 7 pm EST Saturday.  Here is what you can win:

The challenge is a sketch challenge using this sketch:

I couldn't resist playing with this new image.  I paper pieced it and wasn't happy with my paper piecing (I am just learning) so I decided to try and color it using watercolor pencils and an aqua brush.

The image is called Home..sweet home and is just being released today.  I had tried several times to watercolor digis with no success.  Tried embossing off the printer and heat setting but the ink still wanted to bleed.  I am an instant gratification kinda girl and didn't have any fixative so started experimenting with things I had on hand.  I have a Prismacolor colorless blender pencil which I have not had luck with when coloring with my pencils but I thought I would try it on the image to prevent the ink from bleeding...and it worked.
I traced over the lines with the pencil and when I watercolored with my aqua brush it didn't bleed.  I am just learning to watercolor so forgive my coloring.  But this is a fun image to play with.  And you can win it at
Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Blog.  You have until Saturday at 7 pm EST to enter.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

    Papertake Weekly  -  Open
Crafty creations challenge  -  Anything goes
    Colour create Challenge   -  pastels
One stitch at a time Challenge   -  Anything goes

    Summer Breeze

Monday with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.... the theme this week is "Inspired By Song".  Here is my card:

When I saw this theme I knew instantly what song would be my inspiration.  One of my all-time favorites....
"Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts  (1972)

I chose Mailbox Birds from Lindsay's Birds and Branches set.  You can find Lindsay's Stamps at MyGrafico.
I think this is probably one of my favorite sets.  And this image just reminded me of the song .
I used green card stock and Daisy Doodles Designer Paper in greens...MS Butterfly punch..small scallop circle Nestie...Prismacolor Pencils and OMS...and 2 ribbons.  The sentiment is from one of the clear $1 stamps from Michaels.  I enjoyed coloring this image.
Stop by the rest of the Design Teams blogs and see what songs inspired them.

Meet Sidney!  Isn't he cute...he looks quite pleased with himself.  I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and OMS, cut him out with oval nesties and inked around him with 3 different green inks.  I used 2 pieces of  CS, K&Co. and Daisy Doodles DSP ...all from my scrap basket.  Added 5 black dots and stamped for someone special  and he's done.

He just makes me smile  :)   How about you?
