Be Mine

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

WOOHOO!!!  Time for a new challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges.  The Challenge this time is a Valentine with color and shimmer.  First of all let me say that I am not a glittery and shiny person.  I prefer to leave the glitz to others... LOL.  But .. I did my best and this is what I came up with and it is shiny ....

I used one of the frames from the "With Love" set from Daisy Doodles.  I really like the simplicity of them.  I used black cardstock .. a print and a solid paper.  I printed the frame on the solid paper and paper pieced the heart with the print paper.  The papers are from my K&Company stack.  OK for my shimmer I used peel-off borders.  They are black with gold edges.  My son Reno really liked this one.  I think he's going to give it to his girlfriend Katie.  It's always nice that someone likes a card well enough that they want to use it for themselves to give.  :)

Be sure and check out the rest of the Design Team Blogs to see their projects.  They are located on my left sidebar.  And then come and play with us.  We would love to see your projects!!

Challenges:

LOVE Daisy Doodles

The Challenge this time over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is to use a Sentiment as a focal point and Red. I didn't get around to making my card until today and when I went to print I was out of ink. So I decided to do a digital card.

The Sentiment is from a FREE set over at Daisy's Digi Doodles. The papers are Daisy's too. I can't remember where the ribbon and bow came from so if anyone knows leave a comment so I can give credit. I did this card in PSE. When I get my ink I think I will print this for my DH for Valentine's Day.
Be sure to visit the rest of the Design Teams Blogs and see there beautiful cards. You can find them in my left sidebar <<<<<<<.
Then go to Daisy's Digi Doodles and get your FREE Sentiment set and enter the challenge for a chance to win a Gift Certificate.

Challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar  -  Valentine
Doodle Pantry  -  Love
Creatalicious  -  Ribbon and Love
Aud Sentiments  -  Love Sentiment

D2D - "Kaela"

The image at Delightful Inspiration - Designed 2 Delight Challenge this week is "Kaela- Dressed as an Angel"

I don't usually do shiny cards but I went nuts with shiny on this one.  The background is gold glitter and I used gold and silver stickles and gold and silver leafing pens on the edges.  The ribbon is shiny, too.  You can tell so much here but in real life it's 1000 times prettier.  Go over to Delightful Inspiration and see the rest of the cards.  Some beautiful work!!!   Thanks Faith!!!!

D2D - "Harvest Basket"

I went on vacation and missed the last 2 challenges over at Designed 2 Delight and couldn't wait for this one.  And what a beautiful image.  It was certainly worth waiting for.

This was probably the quickest and easiest card I have ever done.  After coloring with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS I used my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and cut out the center with a Nesties Oval (took a nail file to it) and glued them together.  I decided I liked it as is so didn't add any embellishments.  I hope you like it.  You still have one more day to go to Designed 2 Delight and get the image to play along.  I also am entering this into the Double Delight Challenge.

I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and meant for him to be a little darker but it's OK..LOL.  Everything but the flowers cam from my stash.  I used CS...DP...Stickles...Scribbles... Paper Glaze and a buckle punch.  The flower I crocheted using DMC Embroidery Floss.

Beehive Yourself

Rudy, Susie and the kids were in all last week from Florida.  I soooo love to spend time with them.  They left Saturday and I miss them already.... :(   So now it's back to business as normal.  So that means it is time for ....
Yep! ....  Daisy Doodles Challenge #16    .....  ANYTHING GOES
Here's my card:

For this one I chose Daisy Doodles Image "Beehive Yourself" .  I hadn't used this one yet so thought this was a good time.   I really like this image.  You can find it and many more at Daisy's Digi Doodles Store.  And right now Miss Daisy has a SALE up to 50% off on everything in the store.

I used a Fiskars Texture Plate and inked it for the background...colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS ..I made the flowers with 2 shades of yellow tissue paper.  After it was done I spied the little bee applique on my bulletin board.  I had it left over from a dance costume 3 years ago.  So viola .. it was perfect with the image.

Check out the rest of the DT's projects for some inspiration and then cruise over to Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge Blog and enter your project.

Thursday with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Lindsay is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches this week and we are all using one of the sketches from over there.  I chose Sketch #38:

I has a hard time choosing my sketch since there were so many good ones.   I used two of the images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff  "Birds and Branches" Stamp Set.  I love this set.  This entire card was done digitally.  I used PSE and made the card and colored the image with chalk when it was all finished and printed.  You can find LSS images at mygrafico.  I really enjoyed making this card and plan on doing more digital cards.  I think I want to try some hybrids.
Don't forget to go over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and pick your sketch and play along. The theme is "Summer".

Check out the rest of the DT blogs and see what they have been up to and don't forget the freebie from Lindsay's blog.

Another Wedding Card

I had wanted to use the Bells from Daisy Doodles "Simple Elegance" stamp set for the challenge yesterday.  This is the most gorgeous set and I absolutely love it.  I had made cards using both images and when I was all done I managed somehow to get glue on the bells.  But no worries...I had the card with the cake.  I still wanted to use the bells so decided to re-color them and go ahead and finish the card today.  Well....I decided to play around with PSE ... which I am not real good at and decided to the card digitally.  My Son is going to be the Best Man in his friends wedding in August so this is what I came up with.  I hope Casey isn't looking...lol

The papers and embellishments are from SkyScraps Romance collection.  I found them free on DigiScrap Depot.

I did 2 digital cards today but I can't show you the other one yet.  I have really enjoyed playing with this.  I started doing digital scrapbook pages and got sidetracked with card making...which I love..but I miss playing on the computer with PSE.  I don't know how long this will last before I am back to my regular cardmaking but for today I had fun!!  Oh and I still have the bells colored with my prisma pencils to make another card...lol...just need another wedding!

mmmmmm.....

                                    ............................. fresh strawberries!
These images make me want to run right straight to the Farmer's Market and buy Strawberries.

I printed these out directly on my card base and colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  You can't see it very well in the picture but I scored lines on each card and then used an EK Success Border Punch.  I love what I call stand alone images that are pretty enough on their own without embellishments.  I just love clean and simple and these images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at mygraphico really fit the bill.  These are from Lindsay's new set "Strawberries and Watermelon".  I really like notecards and when I saw these they screamed notecard to me.  I plan on making a set of these .... I'm thinking they would be a really nice set bundled and tied with a pretty red ribbon.

It's Thursday so that means the DT have all posted projects that are sure to inspire you.  Starting with Lindsay's be sure and visit each one to see what that have come up with.
