LSS Thursday

This week we were asked to do tags that could be done last minute.  I dug through my pile of leftovers on my craft table.  I had colored several (a bunch ... love this set) of the  Cardinals from the "Nature's Christmas" set.  They were originally intended for cards but I had these 2 left over and decided to use them.

Daisy Doodles "Festive Colors"

Hi  :)   The new challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is "Festive Colors"..... any colors that say Christmas to you.  I must be a traditional gal coz red, white and green say Christmas to me.  Here is my card:

Let me introduce you to "Jack".  He is brand new .. just released yesterday.  When I saw him in his winter hat and scarf I could just imagine him on a lot selling Christmas Trees in the snow.

I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and layered him on a Red Nestie Rectangle.  I started out with a dark green card base and added white CS embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder.  Then I punched the trees out of the same dark green with an EK Success punch and embossed them with the Swiss Dots Folder.  I distressed the edges with scissors and used a nail file on them to make it look like snow.  Added a ribbon and the image.  Oh and I made a little sign and cut around his paws with my exacto knife so he could hold it and added some stickles.

As cold as it is here I want that hat!!!!!!  It looks so warm.

Check out the rest of the DT Blogs (located on my left sidebar) and then play along with us at the Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Blog.  If you need an image there are lots in the $1 section at the Store (Daisy's Digi Doodles).  You can pick up Jack for only $1.

Quick and Easy with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

This week Lindsay has challenged us to do Christmas Cards that could be done in 10 minutes or less and mass produced.    Here is a preview of the set I used:  (on sale for half price right now... here)
And here is what I came up with:

The set is called "Christmas Cupcake Wrappers"  but I decided to use the medallions on my cards.  You can find it at Lindsay's Shop Handmade Store.   There are a lot of secret sale items there and you get a free stamp with every $5 you spend as a thank you for waiting  for your order because there are no instant downloads, your order is emailed within a day.

These really were quick and easy.  I started by printing off the images at 2-1/4" and very quickly watercoloring with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush.  I then cut and scored red CS for the card bases to make a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 card.  I cut the white cs to 4 x 5-1/4 and embossed with cuttlebug snow flake folder.  I placed the ribbon midway down the embossed piece ... cut out the images and red nestie circles and adhered.  I made all 5 cards in less than 30 minutes including coloring.  How quick and easy is that?!?

You can't get this set at mygrafico but there are many others and with instant downloads.  Go to Lindsay's blog and then to the rest of the DT to see their quick and easy projects.  And don't forget to pick up the freebie at Lindsay's.

It's Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Thursday already and I did a quick Christmas card using one of Lindsay's Snowmen from her "Warm Winter" set.  You can find all her Stamp Sets at mygrafico.

This was a fun and simple card to make.  I am trying to get cards done for my Christmas Card List and I am almost there.  :)   Both papers were in my scrap basket as well as the ribbon.  Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Goo-Gone I added snow to the bottom of the image.  Very quick and easy.  Don't forget to go to Lindsay's Blog and see her awesome project as well as her freebie for this week.  Then go by the Design Team Blogs and see their creations.  They always amaze me.

D2D - "Kaela"

The image at Delightful Inspiration - Designed 2 Delight Challenge this week is "Kaela- Dressed as an Angel"

I don't usually do shiny cards but I went nuts with shiny on this one.  The background is gold glitter and I used gold and silver stickles and gold and silver leafing pens on the edges.  The ribbon is shiny, too.  You can tell so much here but in real life it's 1000 times prettier.  Go over to Delightful Inspiration and see the rest of the cards.  Some beautiful work!!!   Thanks Faith!!!!
