Bugaboo Birthday

This is another Birthday card that I sent Cierra.  She loves monkey's.

This is an image from Bugaboo.  It is a very small card that I made her just so she could have 2.  It measures 3-3/4" square.  It's cut out with  Nestabilities Labels One.  The sentiment is another of my $1 stamps cut out with a Nesties Oval Scallop.  Image is colored with prismas and OMS and the dots are scribbles.

My youngest Grandson...Dalton... will be 6 on Friday so I  need to get him a card made and in the mail.  I have a couple of ideas for him.  Now if I can just get them onto a card..lol.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sad News

I came home from work tonight (last night) and learned that Digital-Ink Co. has closed their doors.  This is a sad good-bye.  I wish Judy and all the creators at DICo the best of  luck in their future endeavors.  They will all be missed.

As part of  the DICo Design Team I have a card that I made for the next challenge. This will be my final card as a DICo DT Member.

My creator for the next challenge was to be Judy of M & M Designz and Digital-Ink Co. owner.  I chose her "lovebirds".  The challenge was anything goes.  Judy will be opening another store on her own soon.  As I learn more I will keep you posted.  Also I will be posting the blogs of the other creators as I go along.

Birdie Party

This is the last challenge for February at Delightful Inspiration.  The final image this month is so cute.

This is so not my style at all but the image just called for bright and colorful.  How cute are these birds?  I love them and I can see them being used for a lot of different occasions.

I started with a purple card base and layered with turquoise cs and different colored paper from my stash.  This is the wildest piece of paper I own and I think it is probably the oldest one too.  Like I said...this is not my usual style at all...lol  I colored the birdies with my Prismas and OMS and cit them out with an oval nestie and layered them on turquoise cut out with the oval scallop nestie.  I added a narrow yellow ribbon and the sentiment...."party".  The yellow dots are scribbles and I added stickles to the balloon.

I can't wait to see what Faith has in store for March.  The new challenge month begins Tuesday March 2 so make sure you visit Designed 2 Delight: Delightful Inspiration and play along.
The February images are available in her store HERE along with other adorable stamps.  Thanks so much for visiting and looking at my card....even though it is really different for me..lol.

Friends Forever

This card is for Stitchy's new Challenge blog.  I have had this image for quite awhile.  It is my favorite of hers.

Since I make my living sewing I could not pass this challenge up.  This is Stichy's first challenge on her new blog....One Stitch At A Time (OSAAT).  So in honor of the first challenge,  which had to have stitching on it,  I used my favorite image of hers..."The Raggedies".  You can find her stamps HERE.

For my card I started with a Denim blue card base and added K&Company background paper.  I stitched it on with a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine...and then stitched rows along some of the stripes.  I then cut out ovals with my nesties and stitched them together.  The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and cut out with a craft knife and layered on top with pop-dots.  I used one of my good old $1 stamps for the sentiment and stitched it on.  That is all there is to it!

I am also entering this in the following challenges:

Designed2Delight Challenge

This is for a challenge over at Delightful Inspiration.  Here is this weeks image we were to use:
I colored it 3 times because I couldn't decide on a color.  So I made 3 different cards.   This first one I tried to distress and did not like it at all but thought what the heck...I'll post it anyway.

The 2nd one is o.k. but I like the 3rd one the best.  I have to make this a quick post because I only have 6 minutes to get my entry in.  Again I am barely under the wire.

Digital-Ink Co Challenge #17 - Peace

It is time for the Digital-Ink Co Challenge #17  - All About Peace.  The requirements are to create a card about what Peace means to you.  For me Peace is a place within yourself that you can find comfort and contentment.  Here is my card:

The image is "Roses" from Daisy Doodles..one of the sponsors for this weeks challenge.  You can find it here for $1.50.  This is the stamp given to me to use for this challenge.

I started with yellow cs and layered white cs embossed with swiss dots cuttlebug folder and corner punched.  I used oval nestabilities, green organza ribbon and yellow scribbles for the dots.  I found this quote on-line and thought it was perfect for my thoughts about Peace.  My image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS with diamond stickles added.

This challenge runs from February 22 through February 28....(beginning March 1 challenges will be weekly). All you have to do is make a card depicting what Peace means to you and enter it with Mr. Linky  here.   Here is what you can win for playing along:

Don't forget...there is still time to take advantage of the February Sale.. the more you spend..the more you save...  And be sure if you haven't already to go and sign up for the weekly Newsletter.  You can see the new releases every Wednesday and get a free digital stamp each week.  So what are ya waiting for?  Go to Digital-Ink Co. and check out the store and to the Challenge  Blog to get in on the fun and prizes.  And while you're there don't forget to become a follower.  I would love it if you would become my follower also.

I hope you enjoy  my card and that you will come and join us.  We would love to know what Peace means to you.

Hang In There

This is an image by Dustin Pike of  Doodle Dragon Studios.  I just love his images.  This one is from 2009.
I colored him as usual with Prisma Pencils and OMS and used paper and cs from my stash.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Blue Wren

I didn't make a card tonight...long evening at work and I couldn't manage to get out of the recliner to go to my craft room.  I thought I would show you this card I made a while back for a swap.  Before I got so addicted to coloring digital images I was addicted to stitching on cards and CD's.  It's just one addiction after the other..lol

I can't remember the name of whose stitching pattern this is right now...my brain won't work..lol..it's right on the tip of my tongue.........but it will probably come to me tomorrow and I will let you know.  Anyway I LOVE birds and when I saw this pattern I had to stitch it.  It was a tough one to follow but I think it was worth it!

Calendar

My post for today is a calendar and not a card.  These really are cute calendar pages.

The calendar images are created by Daisy Doodles.  You can find them at Digital-Ink Co.  It is a whole year for $4.00.  Each calendar page has it's own image.

Here are a few of the pages:

Really, all I did was make an easel card and attach the pages with a ribbon.  There are no special embellishments or anything.  It really is a super quick project.  Would make a great gift in a hurry.  I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS  and inked around the edges.

I am entering this in 4 Challenges:
A Spoon Full Of Sugar     -   Spring Is In The Air
Inky Impressions  -  Spring
Pink Elephant   -  Ribbon
Little Red Wagon  -  Ribbon
Cupcake Craft  -  Keep It Simple

Just For Fun!

Something a little different.  I was just in the mood to color and play.  Jules made this digital image from a photograph and I kinda nabbed it.

It was fun to do something different.  It makes you look at photographs in a different way.  I also did the one in my right side bar but I made the digital image myself.  It's my youngest son Reno.  I just think it is soooo cool.  I used to hand embroidery like I color now.....EVERY DAY....and I would convert photos of the grandkids into digital images,  trace them onto fabric and embroider them.  One of these days I'll show you some pics of them.  Anyway just wanted to show you what I've been up to.  Sometimes you just need to play without  a specific goal to complete.  Now back to cardmaking..lol

You Gotta Have Rain

I could not wait to color this little guy...He is soooo cute!     This
is "Rainy Day Freddy".   He is the image Miss Daisy is giving  away if you use one of her stamps in the current Daisy Doodles Challenge.  I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS...then inked around him and used Stickles for the raindrops.

Here is the computer generated sentiment:

And finally here is the whole card:

I don't know what it is with me and the poca dots lately?!?  Since I dug out all the poca dots I had for Lexi's Challenge I have been using them like crazy..LOL  This is a sketch for a challenge my Sister's of Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #29 is having for us.  So when I got Freddy I decided to use him for the sketch.  Thanks Kim Marie for putting this together for us.  I hope you like him half as much as I do.  And thank you so much for looking.

I am also entering this in 2 more challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge     -    Keep It Simple
Cute Daisy May        -      Bright & Cheerful

Daisy Doodles Challenge #2 - Black & White

Today starts the 2nd Daisy Doodles Challenge......the theme is black and white.   Go to Daisy Doodles blog and get all the details.  Here is my card:

OK first of all I admit it...I cheated...but just a little.  The challenge is black and white but I could not bring myself to color the leaves of these beautiful tulips anything but green.  Other than the light green everything is black and white..lol     These are Daisy Doodles Tulips that you have seen me do before.  I love them!  The image is matted on black and mounted on b/w paper matted on white and onto a black card.  I used a MS border punch and punched both sides of a strip of white card stock and glued a b/w ribbon to the center.  I added stickles to the white tulips.

Miss Daisy is doing something a little different with this challenge.  You can use any image you like but if you use a Daisy Doodles Stamp you will get a free image..."Rainy Day Freddy".  You can see him at the top of my left side bar. And to let you in on a little secret...the next challenge is "Bears".  You can find Daisy Doodles Stamps HERE.
You have until 7 pm EST  Saturday February 27th to get your entry in.  Enter using Mr. Linky at Daisy Doodles blog using a direct link to your project  post.    So what are ya waiting for???  Can't wait to see what you create.

Congratulations to the WINNER of the Sketch Challenge #1 .......SANDRA!!!

HAPPY BEE DAY !

This is another image from Designed 2 Delight Digital Stamps for  Delightful Inspiration challenge.  It's a free image for participating with last weeks image and challenge.  This could also be used as a wedding cake if you removed the candles.  The sentiment came with it too.  It was very simple and quick to color using Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.   I colored it in green and peach and used a green dot background paper from my stash.  The strips are cut from K&Company scraps out of my scrap box.  I cut the image and sentiment out with nesties ..inked them with peach ink and added a flower with the center punched from the scrap paper.

This is for 2 challenges
Delightful Inspiration  and Card Patterns: Sketch 51 using this sketch:

Cierra's Birthday Card

My baby girl is turning 12 years old!!!   She is the middle child of my oldest son and the only girl.  We lovingly refer to her as "Miss Thing".  She is all girl!  I cannot believe she is turning 12.  This is one of the cards that I made her.  I am not crazy about it...but...I made it with her in mind. She will like it and that is what matters.

She will love this image.  It is "Brat" by Beary Dust. You can find her stamps at Digital-Ink Co.  Not much to tell about this card.  I used plaid paper because Cierra loves plaids and she likes these colors.  Scribbles dots and an organza ribbon and a sentiment stamp and that's it.  I colored her with Prismas and OMS, cut her out and adhered her with pop dots and done.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl !!!

Reno's Valentine

This card is a Valentine for my youngest son...Reno...he is 23 and at home.  He has left a couple of times and came back..lol     When he was in grade school I made him a sock monkey and he loved it.  He is a monkey nut anyway.  Both times he moved out he took it with him and it came back home with him.  It is missing one ear and his little house shoes but other than that he is in good shape.  Here is the card:

Is this not the cutest digital stamp!!!  I knew instantly that I had to have it for him.  It is a stamp by Bugaboo.  If you haven't been there you have got to go!!!  She is new and has a lot of awesome stamps.  Again it is a very simple card.  Brown cardstock..red and brown papers..labels one nestie..punched circle and a $1 Studio G clear stamp.  I colored the little fella with Prismacolor Pencils & OMS....cut him out and pop dotted him on there.  That is it.  This was very quick to color and very quick to make.  I hope you enjoy him as much  as I have!!!!

I can't wait to give Reno his card..I know he'll love it and he has such a wonderful sense of humor, too.
Thanks so much for visiting me tonight.

Card Of Comfort

This card is for the challenge at There's Magic In The Air with Paper Cupcakes

The requirements were to use this digital image ...."Flight of the Fuschia".... and to make a "comforting"  card using flourishes and/or pearls.  I started with a white card base and inked the edges in purple....layered with lavender/white paper from my stash.  The image was cut out with nesties and layered on a purple scallop circle.  Added a purple flourish and 3 lavender gems.  The sentiment is a stamp I have had for years stamped with purple ink and cut out with an oval nesties.  Colored with Prismas and OMS.

I am not a purple person but I do think of purple as the color of comfort.  For someone who isn't a purple person I sure have been using it a lot lately...lol    This challenge runs through Sunday so go over to There's Magic In the Air and check it out.  The winner will receive a Paper Cupcake Stamp and pick out the stamp of choice.

U Make My Heart Flutter

This image is from Firecracker Designs.  I thought this was a really pretty image.  I printed it out at 3.5 x 5 and colored it with Prisma Pencils and OMS.  It's matted on red cs, border punched on the top and bottom with a Martha Stewart punch and layered on a blue print background.  The sentiment was a free download from FCD , circle punched and inked.  I added a red organza ribbon and that's it.  FCD is having a challenge and a drawing for a gift certificate on their Facebook Fan Page on February 14th so I made this card for the contest over there. Go check it out...you will be entered in the drawing for a gift certificate just for becoming a FCD Facebook fan.

I am in a less is more phase lately and am just liking to make cards with a simple feel to them rather than adding a lot of embellishments.  You know how we are..lol...one phase after another.

Owl always love you

These owls are from Designed 2 Delight.  This is a progressive challenge and I am just under the wire.  Go to their blog Delightful Inspiration and check out the challenges.  After seeing the card my SBS29 Sis Julie of JB's Inky Fingers did I had to get in on it..lol

This will be a Valentine for my Hubby....He loves Owls.  Not much to this card..papers from my stash and card stock.  Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS..the dots are scribbles.  This is a quick post because I am about to be out of time entering the challenge.  Hope ya like it.

Perfect Harmony

I am very proud and honored to have been chosen as a Guest Designer for Lexi's Creations for Challenge # 7 Dots or Stripes.  Here's my card:

For my card I chose Lexi's "Ballerina Trio".  I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it.  I work with a local Dance Studio making and altering costumes for their recitals so this was a perfect image for me to use. I decided to use dots and stripes.  I started with a white card base and added paper with dots from my stash layered with a stripe paper from K & Company.  I used the stripe paper to pull colors to color the ballerinas. They are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS.  The paper for the oval is the other side of the paper I used for the background cut with Nesties.  I cut the images out with a craft knife and mounted them on a solid white oval.  The sentiment was cut out from another piece of K & Company paper and mounted on  green card stock.  And last I added an organza bow.  This was a fun card to make.
You can find Lexi's stamps at Digital-Ink Co.Store

Go over to Lexi's Creations for all the challenge details and enter the challenge.  She always has great prizes. Can't wait to see what you create using dots or stripes.

Lexi..... Thank You so very much for choosing me as a Guest Designer.  It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with you.

Scout Challenge at SNR

This card is for the Digital Ink Challenge over at SNR.  It was kind of a tough one.....but I spent 11 years in Boy Scouts with my youngest son.  I started out as a Den Leader/Cubmaster and went on to become an Assistant Scoutmaster.  The same 8 boys that started with me as Wolves in Cub Scouts crossed over into Boy Scouts.  My son was 1 report on 1 merit badge short of becoming an Eagle Scout...I was so aggravated with him.  To get that close and quit....go figure..lol.  This challenge brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me....the boys and our many camping trips such as our week long Scout Camp every summer.  We learned soooo much together and from each other.  So, thanks for this.  On with my card.....

It is not one of my best cards.  I did it rather quickly ...the challenge ends tomorrow and I didn't have the  opportunity to craft until after work last night.  So I colored the images last night and put the card together this morning.  The tent and the cook fire are from Dustin Pike at Doodle Dragon Studios.  The boy is an image called Pokin' Puddles from Prairie Fairy.  He is actually  playing in a puddle but I covered the puddle with the fire.  I  hope that was ok because the boy was perfect.  Anyway I stamped the olive cardstock with the fleur di lis and versamark ink and put the images on nestie ovals..sponged with coffee ink.  I used embroidery floss
and wrapped it and tied it with a square knot...(I have forgotten how to do the knots :( ..lol)  Stamped the fleur di lis and cut it out with a 1/2" circle punch and stamped the word discover.  And naturally I colored the images with Prismas and OMS.  Sorry to ramble on....just enjoying some memories.

One More Tulip Card

This is the 3rd image in Daisy Doodles Tulips Stamp Set.

I have enjoyed this set sooooo much!  It is without a doubt one of my very favorites.  I know I will be using these over and over.  Again it is a very simple card.  K & Company paper layered on tan card stock...image matted on red and tan card stock and a red organza ribbon.  How simple is that?  I colored the tulips with Prisma pencils.  I didn't have a color I wanted for the vase so I dug out my old colored pencils and I colored it with a Crayola pencil.  I inked around the image with Linen Tim Holtz distress ink.  That's all of my tulip cards for now.  Which one is your favorite?

You can find Daisy Doodles Stamps at Digital-Ink Co.

Another Daisy Doodle Tulips Card

Before I get to the card a couple of reminders.  Digital Ink Co. Challenge is still going on.  You have until Sunday,  February 7 to sign up for some great prizes.

Also Daisy Doodles is having her very first challenge at her blog...Daisy Doodles Stamps... go over and sign up for that one, too.  You have until Saturday,  February 13th.  Miss Daisy is giving away the cutest daisy stamp.

So, now onto my card.  This is another image from Daisy Doodles Tulips.  You can find her stamps at Digital-Ink Co.   Here is my card:

These images just do not call for a lot of embellishing.  I used K&Company paper mounted on textured yellow cardstock .  The image is also mounted on the yellow with a piece of blue textured cardstock off set behind it.  The yellow dots are Scribbles.  I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with OMS.  That is all there is.....I absolutely love these images.  Thank you soooo much for looking and I really hope you like my cards.  I have one  more tulip image that I will post tomorrow night.  Until then...have a great day...or night...lol

Daisy Doodles Tulips

I got the set of  Daisy Doodles Tulips and  I just love them.  I colored and made cards with all 3 of them.  They really were a joy to color.  I am going to show you one today.  This is the first one I did:

I kept them simple because I thought the images were so pretty that I didn't feel like they needed much embellishment.  I used aqua CS and it was too bright so I inked it with Tim Holtz Linen Distress Ink to tone it down.  The background paper is K&Company.  I tried something different this time.  I  usually just sit in front of the TV and color my images without much thought...but this time I picked the paper out and then colored with Prismas and OMS.  I cut the image out with oval nesties and the aqua distressed with the scallop nesties.  I put a lavender organza ribbon on it and that is it.  I will be using these images a lot.  They are wonderful for so many different occasions.  You can get the stamp here.  There are 3 images in the set and I love all 3 of them.  I will post another one tomorrow.  I hope you like it.

Daisy Doodles Challenge

Today is the day for the very first ever Daisy Doodles Challenge.  I made this card and then decided to do another one.  Here is the first one:

This image is "Butterfly" and can be found here at Digital-Ink Co.   I used K&Company designer paper for the background and the flower.  I cut strips of cardstock and stamped the sentiments on it.  I colored the butterfly with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and used a little diamond stickles on his wings.
Now for my 2nd card:

This image is "Flower Pot" and can be found at Digital-Ink Co. here.  I love this image.  I used red card stock for the background and black ribbon layered with trim left over from a sewing project.  I printed the image twice and circle punched the ladybug out to use for the flower center.  Colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS.

So, will you play with us?  This is a sketch challenge.  Go to Daisy Doodles and get the sketch and the deets and play along.  Let's make Miss Daisy's first challenge a success.  I'm gonna be lookin' for ya!!!!!
